Your plan gives everyone on the birth team common ground and a clear understanding of your ideal birth experience. I can help you decide what you want to include in your plan.. 

There is no right or wrong way for you to have your baby and your plan is just that yours. You may get a lot of unwanted opinions from your family, friends, and medical team. But ultimately, this is your birth experience, not anyone else’s.

That’s perfectly fine. Things change last minute and nothing is written in stone. Sometimes, even your medical staff, although they will do their best to honor your wishes, may sometimes need to make adjustments. It’s important to know all your options, the risks and benefits before you go into labor. Doula’s can help!

Be aware that this questioning process takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on how prepared you are to answer these questions. You also may have many options and decisions that you have never thought about before. I suggest you keep notes of things you want to learn more about. The more you know, the more prepared you can and will be for the birth of your child.
